CLARC closure request for support

The consultation about the proposed closure of the Centre for Caribbean and Latin American Research and Consultancy and the redundancy of its staff ended on Wednesday 20 April. We await the final decision of the University. However, as you may know from the news reports regarding the decision to drastically reduce the course offerings of the University in 2012 from more than 500 to 160, including the closure of Caribbean and Latin American Studies, the prospects for a continuation of our Centre are not propitious. We have argued that the Centre should be allowed to operate for one more year at London Metropolitan and in that time we would seek to relocate it to another University.

It would be most helpful to us if you could write a letter in support of our work and requesting that the closure of the Centre be postponed for one year.
